Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of medo, a booking service that connects patients in Nairobi with certified phlebotomists employed by our partner laboratories. Please read them before creating an account.
1. What medo does
medo is a marketplace. We do not employ phlebotomists and we do not perform laboratory testing ourselves. When you book a visit we route your request to a partner laboratory that dispatches one of its phlebotomists, performs the analysis, and releases the results back to you through the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You can book on behalf of a dependent minor from your account once dependent profiles are enabled.
3. The medical relationship
- medo is not a licensed clinician. The results you see are provided by the partner laboratory as-is; discuss them with your doctor before making any medical decision.
- Reference ranges shown alongside your results are general guides. Values outside a range are not always cause for concern.
- medo does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
4. Payments
- Prices are shown in Kenyan Shillings and include the home-collection fee.
- Payment is via M-Pesa (Safaricom Daraja) at booking time.
- If your appointment is cancelled after payment we'll coordinate a refund with you directly — email support@medo.co.ke.
5. Cancellations and rescheduling
You can cancel a pending or confirmed appointment from your appointment detail page. Once a phlebotomist is en route the cancellation window closes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) book on someone else's behalf without their consent, (b) attempt to access another user's account or data, (c) reverse-engineer the service, or (d) use medo for anything other than genuine test bookings.
7. Private beta
medo is currently in private beta. Some features may change, break, or be temporarily unavailable. If you spot anything odd, please tell us through the in-app feedback widget — we're actively iterating on your reports.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by Kenyan law, Irida Ltd's total liability for any claim arising from your use of medo is capped at the amount you paid for the appointment giving rise to the claim. medo is not liable for clinical decisions taken based on your results, for lab error at a partner laboratory, or for events outside our reasonable control.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your profile page. We can suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe presents a safety or security risk.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Nairobi.
